TADU produces two annual publications which are available on the Gateshead Council website.
The TADU Annual Accident Report provides a summary of road traffic accident and casualty statistics for Tyne and Wear for the last 5 years, and provides a reference to the baseline year, to which the Government set targets for the reduction of road traffic casualties that are to be attained.
The report is published by TADU on behalf of the Tyne and Wear Districts to comply with the statutory duties given to the Highway Authorities under the Road Traffic Act 1988, Section 39. Data for the period 1974–2004 is available from TADU upon request
The annual Traffic Count Report provides an overview of the traffic flows in Tyne and Wear.
The report provides data on flows and in most cases for the 5 previous years. Monthly information for each site is given in the appendix where possible. Some of the data given is obtained from the Highways Agency.
